Falcons Make Roster Moves

Springfield, MA - The Springfield Falcons, proud members of the American Hockey League, announced today they have re-assigned nine players to their ECHL affiliate the Johnstown Chiefs. The Falcons will open their 2005-06 regular season on Saturday, October 8 when they host the Portland Pirates at the newly renovated MassMutual Center. Game time is 7:05 PM. The Falcons will practice on Tuesday, October 4 at the MassMutual Center starting at 10:30 am.

The following players were re-assigned to Johnstown (ECHL): Zbynek Hrdel (LW), John Toffey (LW), Randy Rowe (LW), Jonathan Boutin (G), Jay Rosehill (D), Brandon Elliott (F), Dennis Packard (LW), Justin Kelly (C), and Jean-Francois Soucy (LW).

The Falcons have reduced their roster to 24 players including: three goaltenders, eight defensemen and 13 forwards. Springfield completed their preseason with a record of 2-1, including victories over the Providence Bruins and Hartford Wolf Pack.
