Falcons Fall To Wolf Pack 4-0

The Springfield Falcons lost to the Hartford Wolf Pack 4-0 on Saturday night at the MassMutual Center ending their preseason record at 1-2. The Falcons will not focus their attention on the regular season opener, which will be Friday, October 5 in Portland against the Pirates.

The Falcons fell behind midway through the first period when Hartford's Hugh Jessiman opened the scoring with a power play goal at 8:40. In the middle frame, Jordan Owens gave the Wolf Pack a 2-0 advantage when he converted at 16:49 of the second period giving the Pack a two-goal cushion heading into the third period.

Hartford added a pair of goals in the final frame, one by former Falcon Mitch Fritz and an insurance goal by Greg Moore.

Falcons goaltender Devan Dubnyk stopped 26 of the 30 shots he faced in playing the full 60 minutes, while Hartford goaltender Chris Holt was perfect on the night stopping all 17 shots he faced in posting the shutout.
