Falcons Assign Cory Urquhart To Stockton

Springfield, MA - The Springfield Falcons, proud members of the American Hockey League, announced today that they have assigned forward Cory Urquhart to their ECHL affiliate, the Stockton Thunder. Urquhart is expected to participate in the 2009 ECHL All-Star Game presented by Guardian Wear in Reading, PA. on Jan. 20-21.

Urquhart has played in six games with the Falcons this season and has collected one assist. In 30 games with the Thunder, the 6-foot-3, 196-pound native of Halifax, Nova Scotia has 15 goals and 17 assists for 32 points. He is currently second on Stockton in goals and points.

Urquhart signed a standard American Hockey League contract with the Falcons this past summer and he was originally drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in the second round (40th overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
