Falcons Announce Multiple Player Moves

Springfield, MA - The Springfield Falcons, proud members of the American Hockey League, announced today that they have signed forward Matt Beca and defenseman Eddie Del Grosso to Amateur Tryout Agreements. The Falcons also announced that defenseman Bryan Young and forward Matt Marquardt have been assigned to their ECHL affiliate, the Stockton Thunder.

Beca is beginning his pro career after recently completing four seasons at Clarkson University where he collected 51 goals and 72 assists for 123 points in 149 career games.

Del Grosso is also starting his pro career after recently completing his final season with the University of Nebraska-Omaha. The 5-foot-11, 195-pound native of Las Vegas, Nevada led the team in scoring with seven goals and 23 assists for 30 points in 42 games.

Young has split the season between the Falcons and Thunder. In seven games with Springfield, he has no points and 11 penalty minutes. In 38 games with Stockton, Young has two goals and six assists for eight points and 43 penalty minutes.

Marquardt was acquired by the Edmonton Oilers from the Boston Bruins on March 3, 2010 in exchange for Cody Wild. In four games with the Falcons, he didn't register a point and had four penalty minutes.
