
Express Win 12-7 Comebacker Over Isotopes

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Trailing 6-1 after four innings, the Express tallied 11 runs to comeback and defeat the Isotopes 12-7 Saturday night at Isotope's Ballpark. Scoring a season-high 12 runs, the win snapped a four-game Express (7-15) losing streak, as the Isotopes (12-9) lead the series 2-1.
A four-run fifth inning started the comeback for the Express and in the seventh they took the 7-6 lead with a Colin Delome go-ahead RBI single. They added five insurance runs in the final two innings.
Express reliever Wilton Lopez (1-1) earned the win, throwing two shutout innings in the fifth and sixth inning. Roy Corcoran followed Lopez, tossing two perfect frames with two strikeouts. Casey Daigle allowed a lone run in the ninth. Express starter Gustavo Chacin allowed six runs in 4.0 innings with one strikeout and two walks.
Matt Kata's RBI single to drive in Brian Bogusevic evened the score at six runs in the fifth. Trailing by five runs, Jason Castro's two-run double, was followed by Oswaldo Navarro's two-run double highlighting a five-hit, four-run fifth inning. Chris Shelton delivered an opposite-field field home run in the third.
Juan Perez (1-1) recorded the loss, allowing two runs on three hits in the seventh frame. Isotopes starter Josh Lindblom tossed 5.0 innings, while giving up five runs. He also struck out seven batters with one walk.
Brian Bogusevic (3-for-6, two RBI), Chris Shelton (3-for-6, three RBI) and Matt Kata (3-for-6, three RBI) led the 18-hit attack, a season-high. Also contributing was Oswaldo Navarro (2-for-4, two RBI), Jason Castro (2-for-4, two RBI) and Colin Delome (2-for-4, one RBI).
Round Rock and Albuquerque conclude their four-game series Sunday at Isotopes's Ballpark. First pitch is scheduled for 2:35 CDT. The Express send left-hander Andy Van Hekken (1-1, 1.66) to the mound, as the Isotopes counter with right-hander Josh Towers (1-2, 3.13).
