May 1, 2010 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Reno Aces News Release

TACOMA, Wash.- Josh Collmenter turned out one of the most memorable Triple-A debuts in Aces franchise history Friday night, tossing seven scoreless innings to vault Reno to a 7-2 win over the Tacoma Rainiers at Cheney Stadium.

Collmenter (1-0), transferred from Single-A Visalia on Thursday morning, scattered just three hits in a dominant 89-pitch effort. He struck out eight batters and didn't issue a free pass. Collmenter retired 17 of the final 18 batters he faced.

Collmenter's efforts were backed-up by plenty of Reno offense, headed by a two-run fifth inning home run off the bat of Ryan Roberts, his first of the 2010 season. Roberts finished with two hits and four RBIs, while Ed Rogers added two hits and a runs scored, and Sean Coughlin, Chris Rahl and Pedro Ciriaco each chipped in an RBI.

Out of the Reno bullpen, Clay Zavada surrendered two earned runs on two hits and three walks in 0.2 innings before Jason Urquidez came on to record the final four outs to earn his second save of the season.

Friday's loss fell to Tacoma starter Garrett Olson (1-2), who surrendered five earned runs over five innings of work.

Tacoma committed three errors on Friday, and was able to accrue just five hits on the evening.

The series continues on Saturday night at Cheney Stadium. First pitch is again slated for 7 p.m. Reno will send RHP Cesar Valdez (1-1, 3.80 ERA) to the hill. Tacoma will turn to LHP Luke French (2-0, 1.44 ERA). The action can be heard live on Fox Sports Radio 1450 AM or online by visiting www.RenoAces.com.

Reno returns home May 3 at 7:05 p.m. for Game 1 of the 2010 Silver State Diamond Challenge against the Las Vegas 51s. Tickets for all Aces games start at just $7, and are available by calling the Reno Aces box office at (775) 334-7000 or by visiting RenoAces.com.
