Explorers Drop Third Straight

Kansas City, KS-----The Kansas City T-Bones pounded out 17 hits and handing the Sioux City Explorers their third straight loss here Monday 9-4.

The T-Bones scored eight of their nine runs in a two-inning span with four in each of the second and third innings. The 17 hits the Explorers gave up matched the most in any one game this season by an opponent.

Kennard Jones led Kansas City with a four for five night with two RBI's while Felix Molina had a three-run home run in the third inning off losing hurler Andy Noga (1-3).

The Explorers were led by second baseman Brian Bistange who had three hits including a run scoring triple in the sixth inning.

With the loss, the Explorers and Kansas City are now tied for fourth place in the Central Division of the American Association with identical 7-10 records.

The second game of the four-game series will be played Tuesday night in Kansas City with game time for 7:05.
