
Expanded TV Coverage Unveiled for ECHL Hockey Heritage Weekend

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The Alaska Aces announced in conjunction with the ECHL on Thursday the Friday, Feb. 7 Hockey Heritage Weekend presented by CCM game between the Aces and Stockton Thunder will be televised to over 69 million households nationwide.
The game will be available live, statewide on GCI in Alaska while Antenna TV (KTXL.2 - FOX40's Digital Channel) in Sacramento, Calif. will also air the telecast. Additional coverage will be available on ONE World Sports, with the telecast beginning at 7 p.m. AKT and face-off scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
Mike Benton, television and radio play-by-play voice of the Aces, will handle the call. Former Aces defenseman Matt Shasby serves as color analyst while Dave Goldman will provide rinkside reports.
It will be rebroadcast on NHL Network in the United States (Sunday, Feb. 9 at 9 a.m. AKT) and on Comcast Sportsnet California (Saturday, Feb. 8 at 4 p.m. PT).
The 2014 ECHL Hockey Heritage Weekend presented by CCM, begins on Friday, Feb. 7 with the Seventh Annual ECHL Hall of Fame Luncheon presented by BFL Canada to be held at the Sheraton Anchorage Hotel & Spa at 12 Noon. The event continues with two specialty games sponsored by Sutton Special Risk on the nights of Feb. 7 and 8, as the Aces host the Thunder with both teams wearing special jerseys celebrating their affiliations and hockey's development system.
Both events begin at 7:15 p.m. AKST at Sullivan Arena and will feature historical displays straight from the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto, including the Stanley Cup, several other of hockey's most prized trophies, artifacts celebrating the heritage of the game and interactive games for kids to enjoy.
Both the Stanley Cup and Kelly Cup will be available for a special viewing and a unique photo opportunity at the ECHL Hall of Fame Luncheon. The seventh class of the ECHL Hall of Fame includes Wes Goldie, James Edwards, Al MacIsaac and John Spoltore.
