Augusta Lynx News Release

AUGUSTA, GA - Kevin Baker scored the game winning goal for Florida at 4:05 of the third period as the Everblades defeated the Lynx (5-6-2) 2-1 at James Brown Arena on Friday night.

The two clubs played a scoreless first period and then for just the second time this season, the Lynx scored the game's first goal. Patrick Bordeleau deposited the loose puck past Everblades goaltender David Leggio for his fourth goal of the season to give the Lynx a 1-0 lead. Matt Auffrey and Dallas Steward assisted on the goal. Florida responded four minutes later when Ross Carlson found the back of the net for his fourth goal in the last two games and after confirmation from the officials, the Everblades tied the game at one.

Baker gave Florida the lead for good with his point shot into the top right corner of the net and the Everblades defeated the Lynx for the third straight time. Mike Brodeur had another good outing, stopping 40 of 42 Everblades shots while Leggio made 20 saves for Florida. The Lynx finished 1 for 6 on the power play and Florida went 1 for 10.
