Dayton Bombers News Release

DULUTH, GA -- The Dayton Bombers fall for the second time in three nights on the road at Gwinnett 4-2.

Dayton spotted the Gladiators two first period power play goals by Brad Schell (3:40) and Bruce Graham (14:10).

Dayton bounced back with a Ryan Smyth tally, his third of the year, at 1:01 of the second. Assists went to Tyler Wooddisee and Dan Riedel. But at the 3:56 mark, Gwinnett went back up by two on Pat Bateman's sixth goal of the year. The Bombers were able to cut the lead to 3-2 at the 12:29 mark of the second on a controversial goal in which a Gwinnett player, not the goalie, was lying on the puck in the crease. Riedel was given credit for the goal with assists to Joe Van Culin and Nino Musitelli. It was 3-2 after two.

Gwinnett scored the final goal on a giveaway in the neutral zone as Bryan Esner scored unassisted to make it 4-2 the final.

Dayton goalie Tyler Plante knocked away 33 of 37 Gladiator shots-on-goal.

The Bombers' southern trip continues Saturday night at South Carolina. Air time is 6:50 p.m. on AM 980 WONE and the B-2 Networks.
