Everblades blank Inferno 3-0

Columbia, SC - The Florida Everblades (7-4-0) picked up their first road win of the season with a 3- victory over the Columbia Inferno (8-5-1) on Wednesday night at the Carolina Coliseum in Columbia. The Everblads used a pair of goals by John Ronan and a shutout by goaltender Phil Osaer to earn their third game in their last four games.

Ronan opened the scoring 6:07 into the game on a wrist shot that beat Inferno net-minder Chris Houle in the upper left corner of the net. The goal was the rookie's second of the season and gave the ‘Blades a 1-0 lead which stood heading into the third period until Ronan gave Florida a 2-0 lead just 16 seconds into the final frame. Ernie Hartlieb closed out the scoring with his sixth goal of the season at 17:53 of third period to seal the win.

Osaer (5-1-0) earned his first shutout of the season and his fourth straight win in goal for the Everblades by stopping all 34 shots he faced, including three point-blank by chances by Columbia in the final three minutes of the game. Houle suffered the loss for the Inferno dropping his record to 4-4-0 after allowing three goals on 42 Florida shots.

On the power play the Everblades finished the night 0-for-6, and the Inferno failed to convert on any of their four opportunities with the man-advantage.

The Everblades return to action on Friday, November 25 when they take on the Charlotte Checkers at 7:05 p.m. from Bobcats Arena in Charlotte, NC. Everblades 2005-06 group tickets and individual game tickets are on sale now!
