
Evansville take two of three in Richmond

RICHMOND, IN â The Evansville Otters scored five runs in the top of the third en route to topping the Richmond 12-4.
The Otters and Roosters were tied at 1-1 in the top of the third inning when Cole Hilt drove an RBI double to put the Otters up 3-1. Evansville would score three more in the inning to make it 6-1. The Otters would tack on two more in the fourth when Hilt homered driving in Denver Stuckey to make it 8-1.
The Otters wound up scoring four more runs over the next two innings to make it 12-1 before the Roosters came back for the 12-4 final.
Andre Simpson picked up his fourth win of the season for Evansville pitching six innings allowing three hits and three runs. Bryan Simmering went the final three innings for his first professional save.
The Otter return home on Tuesday night at 7:05 p.m. for a game against Kalamazoo, where the Otters will wear throwback jerseys, which will be auctioned off during the game. Scott Barber will start for Evansville.
