
Wild Things Beat Kings 6-0 in First Game of Double Header

Washington, PA â The Washington Wild Things, presented by Washington Federal Savings Bank, shut out the Kalamazoo Kings at Homer Striker Field in the first seven-inning game of a double header Monday. The victory improves the Wild Things record to 12-10 putting them just one and a half games behind first place Kalamazoo (14-9).
The Wild Things avenged Sunday's painful one-run loss to the Kings by storming past the Kings 6-0 and out-hitting them 13 â 5.
Matt McDonnell, who gets the win, pitched 5 2/3 innings, allowing no runs, 3 hits and 1 walk. McDonnell struck out seven (five consecutively) and allowed only one hit until the fifth inning. The victory improves his record to 2-1. BJ Borsa gets the save.
The Wild Things return to Falconi Field to face off against the Chillicothe Paints Tuesday. Fans can pay what they weigh for general admission tickets, courtesy of Curves in Washington and Canonsburg. The first 1,000 ladies through the gates will receive a tote bag, courtesy of Smirnoff Ice. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Tickets are still available.
