LOOK BACK AT LAST GAMES: The first place Evansville Otters split a doubleheader against the Joliet Slammers, winning the first game 5-0, and losing the second contest 6-0. Pitcher Matt Zielinski (4-0) threw a complete game, four hit shutout in the opener. It was his fourth straight victory. First baseman Andrew Clark also fueled the win with a three run home run. He would reach base in all four plate appearances while finishing with four RBIs. Evansville fell behind in the second game when Joliet recorded a second inning RBI groundout. The Slammers would hold the 1-0 lead until the seventh and final inning when the team rallied for five more runs. Designated hitter Marquis Riley also hit a grand slam in the inning.

DOUBLEHEADER SUCCESS: The Evansville Otters are 8-2 in doubleheaders this season, including sweeps at Traverse City, vs. Southern Illinois and vs. River City. Evansville split at Schaum- burg with a controversial game-winning sacrifice fly. Evansville was 10-2 in doubleheaders in 2012.

TRANSACTIONS: First baseman Andrew Clark (.421, 7 HRs, 24 RBIs) had his contract purchased by the New York Yankees organization today. Evansville also released RHP Kyle Worm- ington (0-0, 7.94 ERA) and re-instated RHP Caleb Cuevas from the Injured List (0-1, 1.69 ERA)

FUN FACTS: The Otters are looking for their ninth consecutive series win. Evansville is a Frontier League best 15-1 when scoring first, compared with 4-8 when the opposition scores first. The Otters are 17-0 when leading after five innings. Evansville has not allowed a fourth inning run all season long. The Otters have the lowest league ERA (3.20) and the second best batting average (.277).
