Last time out...

Joliet fell in game one of their scheduled double header on Wednesday by a score of 5-0 but bounced back in game two to prevail 6-0. Matt Zielinski tossed a complete game shutout and held the Slammers to four hits in game one. Evansville tallied four runs in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead and never look back against Joliet starter Shawn Kale. In the second game of the double headers the Slammers struck first with a run in the second inning on a RBI grounder from Nick Akins. Akins would drive in another run in the seventh with a RBI single but it was a Marquis Riley grand slam in the same inning that sunk the Otters as the Slammers won 6-0 behind the outstanding pitching of Chuck Lofgren. Lofgren went six shutout innings and struck out seven batters while only surrendering two hits. Justin Erasmus finished the game off for Joliet in the 7th as the Slammers snapped their 5-game losing streak.

For Starters...
