
Evans Shuts Down Biscuits

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Bryan Evans (6-5) tossed a two-hit, shutout against the Biscuits (67-67, 30-34) in a 9-0 win for the Jacksonville Suns (70-60, 36-27) Monday night at Riverwalk Stadium.
Evans allowed a leadoff double in the second inning to Curt Casali then retired the next twelve-straight batters. The Biscuits only mustered two hits and a walk against him while only getting one runner past second base. Evans struck out nine for his sixth win of the year.
Evans has now started six games in his career against the Biscuits and held a 0.83 ERA.
The Suns scored a run in the second inning, three in the third then Derek Dietrich busted things open with a three-run blast in the seventh inning to make it 7-0. Jacksonville scored two more runs in the ninth to make it 9-0.
The series-finale is Tuesday night at 7:05. RHP Marquis Fleming will be on the mound for the Biscuits while LHP Justin Nicolino will throw for the Suns.
