Jones Reinstated from DL, Mack to Everett

Jackson, Tenn - The Seattle Mariners made the following roster move today that affects the Jackson Generals roster prior to tonight's home game against the Chattanooga Lookouts.

- OF James Jones reinstated from the 7-day disabled list (left triceps strain)

- OF Chantz Mack transferred to Short-A Everett

JONES, 24, suffered a strained left triceps muscle on August 1 vs. Huntsville. In 98 games this season, Jones is batting .276 (97x351) with 13 doubles, 10 triples, 6 home runs, 45 RBIs and 26 stolen bases. Jones leads the Southern League with 10 triples and is 1 shy of Jackson's franchise record for triples in a single season. He leads the Generals in hits, Jones was named a Southern League All-Star and picked up the only hit for the North Division during the game on July 17 at Jacksonville. Jones was Seattle's 4th round draft choice in 2009 and is a native of Brooklyn, NY.

MACK, 22, returns to Short-A Everett of the Northwest League after playing in 5 games for the Generals batting .227 (5x22) with an RBI and stolen base. Mack had a hit in each of his 5 games with Jackson. He was the first member of the 2013 draft class to reach Double-A. Mack combined to bat .308 (44x143) with 14 doubles, 1 triple and 11 RBIs for the AZL Mariners and Everett AquaSox. Mack was draft by Seattle in 29th round of 2013 Draft out of the University of Miami (FL) (No. 867 overall). He was one of two Hurricanes to start all 62 game. Mack was named team captain prior to season and led team in several offensive categories, including batting average (.302), on-base percentage (.444), hits (61), runs (44), triples (3), walks (41) and stolen bases (15) while recorded team-leading 18 multi-hit games. He resides in Homestead, FL.
