Jones Activated, Keeling to the DL

PEARL, MS - Outfielder Mycal Jones was activated from the disabled list, and RHP Thomas Keeling was placed on the disabled list with a right quad strain.

Jones, 26, was placed on the disabled list with a right ankle sprain August 11. He was hitting .261 with 16 doubles, three homers and 31 RBI in 105 games for the M-Braves. Jones currently leads the M-Braves with 29 stolen bases on the season. He also strung together a 16-game hitting streak (25-62, .403) that ran from July 19 through August 7. Jones was selected by the Braves in the fourth round of the 2009 draft out of Miami-Dade Community College South.

Keeling, 25, was 1-3 with a 4.68 ERA in the Southern League this season. He was 1-2 with a 5.68 ERA for the M-Braves after being traded by the Milwaukee Brewers to the Atlanta Braves in exchange for third baseman Juan Francisco on June 3, 2013. The Texas native was originally selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 18th round of the 2010 draft out of Oklahoma State University. In his career, Keeling is 5-9 with a 6.73 ERA. He's recorded three saves and struck out 122 batters in 112.1 innings of work.
