South Bend Silver Hawks News Release

South Bend, IN - In conjunction with the Arizona Diamondbacks, the South Bend Silver Hawks have announced that infielder/outfielder Victor Estevez has been placed on the disabled list with a sore ankle, retroactive to June 15th.

Estevez started the year with South Bend but was called up to high-A Visalia to replace '09 Silver Hawk Reynaldo Navarro, who was traded to Kansas City in early May. Estevez hit just .194 in 20 games with the Rawhide.

Estevez had played a utility role for South Bend in April, batting .205 with two RBIs. Since returning to the Silver Hawks, Estevez was 0-for-7 in two games.

The South Bend roster currently stands at 24 active players plus two on the disabled list. The Midwest League allows for 25 active players.

The Silver Hawks wrap up the road trip at 7:05 PM Eastern Time tonight against the Great Lakes Loons in Midland, Michigan. South Bend returns home to face the Fort Wayne TinCaps at 7:30 PM Eastern Time Friday night on Welcome Coach Kelly Night and a Fireworks Friday celebration.
