Eskimos Add Two to Practice Roster

(Edmonton) The Edmonton Eskimos have signed import linebacker Leon Joe and non-import wide receiver Nate Binder to practice roster agreements, the club announced today.

Joe dressed for two games with the Toronto Argonauts this season before his release on August 31st. The Ohio native spent time with the Montreal Alouettes in 2009 dressing for one game. Originally drafted by the Chicago Bears in the fourth round (112th overall) in the 2004 NFL Draft, the Maryland product spent five years in the NFL with various teams (Chicago Bears, Arizona Cardinals and Buffalo Bills). In 36 career NFL games Joe recorded 43 defensive tackles (35 solo).

A fourth round (24th overall) BC Lions selection in the 2010 CFL Canadian Draft, Binder spent two season at Tusculum College posting 1,569 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns on 85 receptions in just 22 games. The Ontario native was released from the BC Lions on June 18th.
