
Erie with 21 Hits as They Beat Portland 18-1

Erie, PA - The Erie SeaWolves (54-60) used a three-run first inning to beat the Portland Sea Dogs (46-67), 18-1 on Wednesday night at UPMC Park. Erie has won the first two games of the series, and three of five from Portland this season.
Right-hander Beau Burrows (9-8) earned the win for the SeaWolves, despite yielding eight baserunners over five innings. Burrows scattered three hits, four walks, and fanned six.
Kyle Hart (7-8) suffered the loss, allowing seven hits, five runs (two earned) over five innings pitched.
Erie put the game away in the sixth inning, scoring six runs off Harrison Cooney. The first seven batters of the frame reached, as Erie received five straight run-scoring hits. Sergio Alcantara started the scoring with an RBI single. The 'Wolves then received four consecutive RBI doubles from Willi Castro, Daz Cameron, Josh Lester, and Dominic Ficociello.
In the seventh inning, Erie batted around for the second straight inning, scoring five runs (three earned) off Jared Oliver.
In the first inning, Erie scored three unearned runs off Hart. Lester and Will Maddox had RBI singles, and Jake Rogers delivered a sacrifice fly. Rogers and Cam Gibson hit solo-homers off Hart.
Austin Rei knocked in Portland's lone run with an RBI single in the eighth inning. Michael Chavis continued his hot hitting, collecting three hits, and has seven hits in the series. Chad De La Guerra finished 2-for-5.
Jordan Betts pitched the eighth inning, yielding three consecutive doubles to start the inning, giving up two runs on three hits and had one strikeout.
The Sea Dogs and Erie SeaWolves (Tigers affiliate) wrap-up a three-game series on Thursday night at UPMC Park beginning at 7:05 PM. Lefty Dedgar Jimenez (6-7, 5.02) takes on Right-hander Alex Faedo (1-3, 3.89). Radio coverage with Mike Antonellis begins at 6:50 PM on the WPEI U.S. Cellular Sea Dogs Radio Network.
