
Erie Shut out by Altoona, Return Home Monday

The SeaWolves offense went silent once again on Sunday evening at People's Natural Gas Field as they dropped their third straight game with a 5-0 loss to the Altoona Curve.
Altoona struck first in the bottom of the second against Erie starter Ramon Garcia. Tony Sanchez led off with a single and he was doubled home by Curry. On the Curry double, he moved to third on a Michael Rockett error and scored on a Miles Durham groundout for a 2-0 lead.
The Curve extended its lead in the fifth. Durham walked with one out and Quincy Latimore belted a two-out, two-run home run making it 4-0.
In the eighth, Altoona added a run against Austin Wood. Robbie Grossman walked with two outs and stole second. Grossman scored on a Brock Holt single for a 5-0 edge.
Garcia (2-3) took the loss allowing four runs, three earned, on three hits with a walk and a season-high eight strikeouts in seven innings of work. The loss snapped his two-game winning streak.
Tim Alderson (3-1) earned the win shutting out the SeaWolves in seven innings with on walks and three strikeouts. He has not allowed a run against the 'Wolves 12 innings of work this season.
It was the third time the SeaWolves have been shutout, all three have been on the road.
The 'Wolves return home on Monday night to begin their longest homestand of the season with a four-game series against the Reading Phillies.6:35 First Pitch. RHP Zack Segovia (4-3, 5.27 ERA) takes the mound for Erie against RHP Drew Naylor (2-1, 6.60 ERA).
