ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...
The SeaWolves open up a seven-game, six day homestand tonight as they take on the Reading Phillies (Philadelphia Phillies) for the first time this season at Jerry Uht Park. The 'Wolves are coming off of a series split with the Akron Aeros following a 4-3 loss on Monday afternoon. Erie tied the game at 3-3 in the top of the ninth, only to fall on a double down the left field line to bring home the winning Akron run in the bottom of the inning. It was the sixth time this season that the 'Wolves have lost a game on the opponents last at bat...The R-Phils enter tonight's game six games under .500 and in fourth place in the Southern Division. Reading is 3-7 in the club's last 10 games played. The 'Wolves are 4-6 in the last 10 and look to improve on the worst home record in the league. Erie is the only team in the EL without double digit home victories this season...RHP Andrew Kown takes the mound for the 'Wolves, making his 10th appearance of the season and his ninth start. Kown has taken losses in each of his last two outings, the most recent against Bowie. On May 22, Kown allowed a pair of two-run home runs against the Baysox in going six innings, allowing four runs on four hits with three walks while striking out a season-high seven...RHP J.D. Durbin makes his second start for Reading since being sent down from Triple-A Lehigh Valley where he was 0-5 with a 9.42 ERA. Durbin took a loss against Trenton on May 22 giving up four unearned runs on four hits with five innings with two walks and four strikeouts.
