
Four in ninth inning lifts Fisher Cats to win in Trenton

New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release
Trenton, NJ- The Fisher Cats scored four runs on five hits in the top of the ninth inning and rallied to beat the Trenton Thunder, 5-3, in the completion of the May 18 suspended game at Waterfront Park on Tuesday night.
(Note that as of 9:30pm, the regularly scheduled game has not started due to rain in Trenton---It likely will start around 10:00pm).
With one out in the ninth inning, Ryan Klosterman (1-for-3) singled off reliever Steven Jackson (0-1). Scott Campbell followed with a single. After Aaron Mathews flied out to right field, Travis Snider singled to left field, scoring Klosterman to make it a 3-2 game. A passed ball then allowed Campbell to score from third and Snider moved to second base. Jacob Butler doubled Snider home to put New Hampshire in front 4-3. Ryan Patterson then singled Butler home with the fifth run.
A-J Wideman (2-5) came on in relief when the suspended game picked up in the fourth inning. He worked five innings, allowing three unearned runs in the fifth inning, on four hits. Wideman walked one and struck out 1. Zach Dials earned the save pitching a scoreless ninth inning.
New Hampshire had taken a 1-0 lead before the rain stopped play on an RBI single by Chris Gutierrez.
Trenton scored its three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. Jose Tabata and Kevin Russo reached on errors to start the inning. Tabata scored on a groundout by Eladio Rodriguez to tie the game at 1-1. Austin Jackson then doubled home two runs to put Trenton up 3-1.
The Fisher Cats continue their road trip in Trenton on Wednesday night at 7:05pm. RHP Erik Hacker will make his Eastern League debut for Trenton against New Hampshire RHP Scott Richmond (3-5, 5.23) Radio coverage begins at 6:45pm on the WGIR Fisher Cats Radio Network with Bob Lipman.
