Tonight, the SeaWolves return home for a brief four-game homestand as they take on the Reading Phillies (Philadelphia Phillies) at Jerry Uht Park. Last night, the 'Wolves fell to the Richmond Flying Squirrels in the final game of a four-game series, sending Erie to its third consecutive loss. The 'Wolves need a win tonight to avoid matching their longest loss streak of the season (four games) and dropping to a season-low five games under .500...The 'Wolves and Phillies have split the first six meetings of the season series. The two clubs split the most recent series in Erie 2-2 at the end of April...Reading boasts the leagues second-best team batting average at .270 and are the league's top scoring team (227 runs scored). Tonight's game features the two of the top three scoring teams in the EL (Reading one and Erie three)...Righty Mark Sorensen takes the mound tonight for the Howlers making his ninth start and first against the Philllies. Sorensen is 2-0 with a no-decision in his last three starts and has allowed just two earned runs over his last 21 innings pitched. Sorensen picked up a win in his last start at Bowie. The righty went seven innings, allowing a run on seven hits with two walks and four strikeouts in seven innings of work. The win was Sorensen's third of the season and Erie won the game 6-1...RHP Josh Zeid takes the mound for the Phillies making his ninth start and first appearance against the SeaWolves. Zeid earned a win in his last start against Richmond on May 21. In the game, he allowed three unearned runs on five hits with three walks and three strikeouts in six innings of work. Zeid is 2-2 in his last four starts and is 1-2 with a 6.43 ERA in three May starts.
