Victorino Scheduled to Rehab in Reading

Philadelphia Phillies center fielder Shane Victorino, who is recovering from a right hamstring strain, is scheduled to make a rehab appearance for the R-Phils when the club returns home for a tremendous three-game series with the Akron Aeros (May 31 - June 2). Victorino is scheduled to play all three games for Reading during the series at FirstEnergy Stadium.

Victorino, who was placed on the disabled list with a right hamstring strain back on May 20 (retroactive to May 19), is scheduled to make his first rehab appearance on Saturday, May 28 for Lakewood (A), before joining the R-Phils in time for Tuesday's 6:35 p.m. game against Akron. Reading will then host Akron in game two on Wednesday, June 1 for a 2:05 p.m. game. Wednesday's game is PA Dutch Day, with special guest Darren "Dutch" Daulton. On Thursday, June 2, the club will host the Aeros in the finale of their three-game series, with first pitch set for 9:35 a.m. for the club's 10th Annual Morning Game.

A native of Wailuku, HI, Victorino, 30, is currently hitting .284 with six home runs and 19 RBIs for the Phillies in 155 at-bats this season. The speedy Victorino is also 8-for-9 in stolen base attempts this season.
