Senators beat Bowie 2-0 in rain-shortened game

The Harrisburg Senators returned home on Friday night and defeated the Bowie Baysox 2-0 in a game that was shortened to six innings due to rain. Overall, it was the Senators fourth straight win, fourth shut out on the season - all against Bowie - and they moved to 24-20, four games over .500 for the first time this year. With the loss, the Baysox drop to 24-24 on the year.

Erik Arnesen pitched 3.2 shutout innings in relief of Tanner Roark to earn the win. Arnesen is now 2-0 on the season. Matt Chico came on and struck out Steve Lerud to end the top of the sixth inning to pick up his first save on the season. Roark started and pitched the first two innings before the rain came. He allowed just one hit.

Tyler Moore and Josh Johnson both homered for the Senators, accounting for their two runs.

Game two of the five-game series is Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. with RH Shairon Martis on the hill for the Sens against RH Zach Clark for the Baysox. The game can be heard on 1460am The Ticket, on the Internet through the Senators website, and on your ipad or iphone beginning at 6:50 p.m.
