Tonight, the SeaWolves look to snap a three-game slide as they take on the Akron RubberDucks (Cleveland Indians) in the opening game of a four-game series at Jerry Uht Park. Last night, the SeaWolves fell to Reading 14-1 in the series finale at First Energy Stadium. The Fightins completed a series sweep over Erie and the 'Wolves have now lost six straight to Reading...Akron is coming off of a loss last night at Richmond 2-0. The Ducks have gone 3-7 in their past 10 games and have fallen out of first place in the Western Division... Righty Tommy Collier takes the mound for the SeaWolves making his 16th start of the season and second against the Ducks. He earned a win in his first start against Akron on May 14 allowing two runs on four hits with four walks and a strikeout in five innings of work. Collier took a loss despite tossing a quality start in his last outing at Hartford on June 25. In the game, he allowed two runs, one earned, on four hits with no walks and three strikeouts in six innings of work. Erie lost the game 2-1...RHP D.J. Brown takes the mound for Akron making his 17th appearance, 10th start and third start against the SeaWolves. Brown is 1-1 this season against Erie. He took a no-decision in his last appearance against Trenton on June 26. Brown tossed three scoreless innings in relief against the Thunder allowing two walks while striking out three...The 2016 Eastern League All-Star rosters were announced today and the SeaWolves have four players on the Western Division squad. RHP Tommy Collier, OF Jason Krizan, OF Connor Harrell and INF Corey Jones will represent Erie in the game held in Akron on July 13.
