Harrisburg Senators News Release
In conjunction with the Eastern League, the Harrisburg Senators are pleased to announce that INF Neftali Soto, RHP Andrew Robinson and RHP Tyler Mapes have been named to the Eastern League Western Division All-Star team for Eastern League All-Star Game at Canal Park in Akron, Ohio on July 13.
The Senators, which enter play tonight in third place at 42-35, are one game out of first place in the Western Division. Harrisburg has already clinched back-to-back winning months for the first time since 2013.
Soto, 27, leads the Senators in both homers (seven) and RBI (38) despite not joining the Senators until April 21. He is hitting .268 with 12 doubles and a slugging percentage of .420. Soto had a pair of six-RBI games in a span of four days as he drove in six against Richmond on May 10 and then did it again on May 13 against Akron. He has progressively gotten better as the season has gone on, including a .362 average with eight doubles in 25 games in June.
Robinson, 28, has been a valuable part of the Senators' bullpen since joining the team on April 20. He is 4-0 with a 2.16 ERA with one save in 16 appearances. In 33.1 innings, he has struck out 36 batters while walking just nine. He allowed just one run in 14.2 innings from May 20 through June 19.
Mapes, 24, has been fantastic in his first season as a full-time starter, having already set a professional career high with 15 starts. He is 7-5 with a 3.41 ERA in 92.1 innings, in which he has struck out 48 and walked 21. Mapes has already thrown two complete games, including a three-hit shutout of Trenton on June 15. It was the first nine-inning shutout by a Senators pitcher since July 11, 2013 when current Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Robbie Ray accomplished the feat. Mapes has been a model of consistency, throwing a quality start in 11 of 15 outings this season.
