ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...

Tonight, the SeaWolves look for their third consecutive victory as they take the field in the second game of a four-game series against the Akron Aeros (Cleveland Indians) at Jerry Uht Park. The Howlers won the series opener over Akron 6-2 on Monday night. The win marked Erie's eighth straight against the Aeros. Last night's win, couple with losses by Reading and Bowie, has pushed the SeaWolves back into second place in the EL South. The ‘Wolves are a half game ahead of third place Reading and 1.5 games ahead of fourth place Bowie. Erie has also closed the gap with first place Akron to 5.5 games...The SeaWolves have won eight of their last nine home games and are the top home team in the Eastern League at 33-15 with a .687 home winning percentage. The SeaWolves are in a stretch of games where the club will play 16 of 20 at Jerry Uht Park...The ‘Wolves are the hottest team in the league winning seven of their last 10 games...Erie's 53-42 record is identical through 95 games to that of the 2007 Southern Division Championship team...Following last night's win, the ‘Wolves are back to a season-high 11-games over .500. It is the fifth time Erie has been 11 games over. The ‘Wolves have been unsuccessful in four attempts to go to 12-games over .500...In 12 games against the Aeros this season, the ‘Wolves are hitting .275 as a team...While Akron has the third-best pitching staff in the league with a 3.42 team ERA, the club's ERA jumps to 5.31 against Erie...Lefty Jon Kibler takes the mound for the SeaWolves. He is 1-0 with a no-decision in two starts against Akron with a 1.84 ERA. Kibler has taken back-to-back no-decisions.

- Erie leads the season series over Akron 10-2. The SeaWolves and Aeros meet 27 times in 2009. It is the most times Erie will face an opponent in 2009.

- Ryan Strieby is third in the league with 17 home runs, is second with a .421 on-base percentage and is third with a .561 slugging percentage.

- Alex Avila leads the league throwing out potential base stealers at a clip of 47.1 percent.
