Bank of America Joins Defenders Community Efforts
July 21, 2009 - Eastern League (EL1)
Connecticut Defenders News Release
NORWICH, CT- Community involvement is a hallmark of the Defenders organization and the club feels strongly about making a positive impact in those communities that support the club. The Connecticut Defenders are proud to announce their newest partner Bank of America to join their Community CARES Program.
Through this Community CARES program, corporate partners of the Defenders have purchased blocks of seats that are distributed to individuals, families and not for profits who would otherwise not be able to attend games at Dodd Stadium. Through the generosity of the team and its partners, over 20 Premium Seats are made available for each game.
"In this economic environment, it is more difficult for the community to find affordable family activities. We are thrilled to be able to offer this opportunity for all Defender fans through this unique program," said Dean Andrews, Connecticut Market Manager for Bank of America.
Bank of America has been a long standing supporter of the Defenders and when senior executives in Connecticut inquired about making an impact in the communities that the Defenders serve, the Community CARES program made the perfect fit.
"We are thrilled to welcome Bank of America into the fold," said Defenders General Manager Charlie Dowd. "They join an impressive roster of partners that includes Mohegan Sun, the Mohegan Tribe, Comcast and Dunkin' Donuts among others. Our fans are important to us and having the ability to provide this service to those that might be struggling is a great opportunity. We look forward to continuing the work that this program helps us to achieve."
