Erie SeaWolves News Release
ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...
The SeaWolves continue a four-game series tonight against the Trenton Thunder (New York Yankees) at Waterfront Park. Trenton has held the SeaWolves at bay this season, winning the first five games of the season series. Last night's one-run victory for Trenton also clinched the season series over Erie with three games left. It marks the first time this season that Erie has dropped a season series...Erie has struggled during their 10-game road trip. The club is just 2-5 over the first seven games of their longest road trip of the season. The âWolves are 4-6 in the last 10 games and sit in fifth place in the Southern Division, 15.0 games behind first place Akron...Trenton is also 4-6 in the last 10 games but they have maintained a three-game advantage over Portland and Binghamton atop the Northern Division. Trenton holds the second-best record in the EL. Only Akron has more wins and a better winning percentage than Trenton...The âWolves send righty Andrew Kown to the bump in the second game of the series. Kown has fallen in back-to-back starts, including his last time out against Binghamton. Kown took a loss to the B-Mets despite pitching a complete game. He went 8.1 innings, allowing three runs, two earned, on eight hits with a walk and two strikeouts. It was Kown's first complete game since July 13, 2007 against Bowie. Erie leads the EL with four CG's...LHP Phil Coke takes the mound for Trenton. Coke has dropped two straight decisions and is 1-0 against the SeaWolves.
