Aerodynamics...
It Makes For Good Theater...The Aeros added to their collection of come-from-behind wins in June with a dramatic 11-10 victory over Bowie in 10 innings last night. The Aeros fell behind 9-3 going into the bottom of the fourth, giving them their fourth win of the month after falling behind by at least five runs. All but one Aero in the lineup had a hit, and even the player who did not - DH Matt Whitney - still drove in a run. Down by six, the Aeros kept chipping away until it was a 10-9 contest entering the bottom of the ninth. The Aeros were down to their final strike in the bottom of the ninth, but CF Jose Constanza drew a walk and red-hot LF Trevor Crowe lined an RBI double to left-center to tie the game. Whitney led off the 10th with a walk and Brandon Chaves pinch ran and swiped second and third base. After an intentional walk to C Wyatt Toregas, 2B Brandon Pinckney drove Chaves home with a line-drive sacrifice fly to left, giving Akron the win.
Rolling Crowe...With a 4-6 effort last night, OF Trevor Crowe extended his hitting streak to seven games and also notched his fifth straight multi-hit game. Over those five games, Crowe is hitting .625 (15-24) with five doubles, two homers, 10 RBI, and nine runs scored while raising his batting average 67 points to .298. Crowe has also scored a run in 11 straight games.
Did You Know...Reliever Scott Roehl has worked 7.2 consecutive scoreless innings, including 3.1 frames of one-hit baseball last night. He has lowered his ERA more than a run to 3.23 entering tonight's twin-bill.
