The SeaWolves are coming off their worst homestand of the 2006 season against Reading and Harrisburg. During the ‘Wolves six games at home, they suffered losses of 17-3 in game one against Reading and 17-8 in the final game against Harrisburg. Following the sweep against Harrisburg, the SeaWolves have fallen to a season-low 10 games under .500. The ‘Wolves have lost three in a row and have dropped 11 of their last 13.

The Phillies took two of three against the ‘Wolves at Jerry Uht Park last week. Game one saw Reading take a 17-3 victory. The SeaWolves lost game two in 10 innings. In that game, Reading held a 3-2 advantage heading into the ninth. In the bottom of the ninth, the ‘Wolves had the winning run in scoring position with no outs, but could not seal the deal. They tied the game but lost in the 10th on a sacrifice fly. Erie held off a late charge by Reading in game three to take a one-run victory, 5-4.

Erie took two of three from Reading on their last visit to First Energy Stadium (May 12-14). The ‘Wolves started the season going 6-1 against the R-Phils, but lost two of three in the most recent series.
