NEW BRITAIN STADIUM * GAME #107 * ROAD GAME #55 * DAY GAME #30
Today, the SeaWolves look for a series split as they take on the New Britain Rock Cats (Colorado Rockies) in the final game of a four-game series at New Britain Stadium. Last night, the SeaWolves snapped a four-game losing streak as they came from behind to beat the Rock Cats 7-5...Today, righty Chad Green makes his 21st start of the season and first against the Rock Cats. Green finished the month of July with an 0-4 record in five starts despite a 3.25 ERA. Green has been a victim of a lack of run support throughout the season. In 16 of his 20 starts, the SeaWolves have scored three runs or fewer. Green took a no-decision in his last start at Reading on July 28. In the game, he tossed six shutout innings allowing two hits with two walks and four strikeouts. He was in line for his first win since May 20, however, the bullpen could not protect a three-run ninth inning lead and Erie lost 4-3...Lefty Ryan Carpenter takes the mound for the Rock Cats making his 22nd start. Carpenter earned a win in his last start against Binghamton on July 27. In the game, he allowed a run on seven hits with two walks and three strikeouts in seven innings.
