ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...

Tonight, the SeaWolves look for their third consecutive win as they take the field to being a three-game series against the Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates) at Blair County Ballpark. Erie has won five of seven games at BCB this season...The ‘Wolves are coming off a 12-4 win over Binghamton on Monday afternoon, completing the series win. Erie has now won two consecutive series and the win improved Erie to 13-6 against teams from the EL North...Entering play today, the Howlers are in fourth place in the Southern Division, 9.5 games behind first place Akron, 2.5 games behind second place Reading and a half game behind third place Bowie. Erie has won five of its last seven games (all against the North). The ‘Wolves are 32-32 against teams from the EL South...Altoona has won two of its last three and is coming off a 12-3 win on Monday against Bowie. Altoona has won five of its last seven games against the SeaWolves and has taken two consecutive series against the ‘Wolves...The ‘Wolves are hitting .277 over their last 10 games and .311 over their last five. Ryan Strieby is hitting .370 (10x27) in his last seven games. Alex Avila is hitting .343 (12x35) over his last 10...Righty Jonah Nickerson takes the mound for the ‘Wolves making his 17th appearance, 16th start and fifth start against Altoona tonight for the ‘Wolves. He is 0-2 with a pair of no-decisions against Altoona. Nickerson beat Trenton in his last start going 5.1 innings, allowing five runs on 11 hits with no walks and two strikeouts...Erie right-handed reliever Zach Simons has been named to the Eastern League All-Star game as a replacement to SeaWolves RHP Josh Rainwater who was promoted to Triple-A Toledo.
