Erie Otters News Release
Erie, Pennsylvania - Erie Otters General Manager Dave Brown announced today that the team has acquired defenseman Jacob Golden from the London Knights in exchange for Erie's fourth-round pick in 2020 and a conditional third-round pick in 2024.
Golden has spent the past three seasons in London after the Knights selected him 295th overall in the 15th round of the 2015 Ontario Hockey League priority selection. The 6-foot, 185-pound blueliner has appeared in 135 regular season OHL games, accumulating 26 career points (4G-22A). The 19-year-old is on pace for a career year with ten points (2G-8A) in 34 games played with London this season. A native of Toronto, Ontario, Golden was selected by the Minnesota Wild 147th overall in fifth round of the 2017 National Hockey League Entry Draft.
"Jacob brings a wealth of experience to our blueline and adds another veteran presence to our room," General Manager Dave Brown spoke of Golden. "He can play all situations for us and help guide our young defense corps. His professionalism and diligence fit the Otters way, and we're thrilled to welcome Jacob and the Goldens to the Otters family."
