DES MOINES, IA, Jan 5, 2009 - The Iowa Energy signed 6'11" center Dwayne Jones today, bolstering the team's front line as they head into a stretch of twelve games during the month of January.

Jones, who has played in the NBA each of the last four seasons, was released by the Charlotte Bobcats in December. Last year, Jones played in 60 games for the Cleveland Cavaliers, averaging 1.4 points and 2.4 rebounds per game.

During his career, Jones has played for Boston, Cleveland and Charlotte.

"Getting an NBA level big man is rare in our league. Dwayne and Courtney (Sims) are both NBA level players, who will compliment each other very well. Dwayne is a great rebounder and will block shots for us. We feel very fortunate to have him with us," said Nick Nurse, Energy Head Coach.

Jones is expected to make his debut with the Energy on Saturday, January 10th in Erie.

The Energy return to Des Moines to host the Anaheim Aresnal on Thursday, January 15th at 5pm. Single game tickets are available by calling 515-462-2849 or visiting www.iowanba.com.
