Idaho's Jermareo Davidson Earns Gatorade Call-Up To Golden State Warriors

NEW YORK, Jan. 5, 2008 - The Golden State Warriors signed Jermareo Davidson of the Idaho Stampede. Davidson's Gatorade Call-Up is the third this season, the 122nd in the NBA D-League's eight-year history, and the first during the 2009 NBA D-League Showcase, currently taking place in Orem, Utah.

Davidson, a 6-10 forward, was selected by the Stampede third in the first round of the 2008 NBA D-League Draft has started in all 15 of the Stampede's game this season, and is averaging 16.1 points and 10.8 rebounds. The Stampede are set to play their first game of the 2009 NBA D-League Showcase tomorrow when they face the Fort Wayne Mad Ants in Orem, Utah.

Originally selected in the second round of the 2007 NBA Draft (36th overall) by the Warriors, Davidson was acquired by the Charlotte Bobcats in a draft night trade with Golden State. Davidson went on to play in 23 games for Charlotte during the 2007-08 season.

A four-year starter at the University of Alabama, Davidson finished his collegiate career averaging 10.2 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.8 blocks in 126 games. During his senior season, Davidson averaged 14.0 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks in 30 games. Davidson was named to the All-Southeastern Conference Second Team in 2006-07 by the coaches and earned Honorable Mention All-SEC accolades by the Associated Press.

Davidson, who will wear jersey #33 with the Warriors will join the team tonight when the team travels to play the Utah Jazz.
