Anaheim's James White Named NBA D-League Performer of the Week

NEW YORK, Jan. 5, 2009 - James White of the Anaheim Arsenal has been named the NBA D-League Performer of the Week for games played during the week of Dec. 29, 2008. The honor is the first of the season for an Arsenal player.

White led Anaheim to a 1-1 record this week, averaging 28.0 points while shooting .633 (19-of-30) from the field. He scored a season-high 31 points in Anaheim's loss to Dakota on Saturday.

A 6-7 forward, White is leading Anaheim with 22.4 points this season in 14 games, a mark that is good for third in the league. Last Season, White played with the Austin Toros on assignment from the San Antonio Spurs.

Other top performers last week included Dakota's Blake Ahearn, who averaged 26.0 points in three games for the Wizards; Albuquerque's Will Conroy, who finished the week averaging 25.5 points and 10.0 assists in two games for the Thunderbirds; Erik Daniels, who averaged 23.3 points, 10.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists in three games for the Erie BayHawks; Iowa's Cartier Martin who averaged 28.3 points and 6.0 rebounds for the Energy and Colorado's Cheikh Samb, who averaged 20.0 points, 9.5 rebounds and 4.5 blocks in two games for the 14ers during an assignment from the Denver Nuggets.
