
Energy Fall to the Mad Ants

Des Moines, Iowa - The Iowa Energy (16-13) fell 100-95 to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants (20-12) Saturday night at Wells Fargo Arena.
The Energy were led by Diante Garrett with 17 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists. Larry Owens and Kalin Lucas added 15 points each and Memphis Grizzlies assignee Jarnell Stokes added a double-double with 14 points and 16 rebounds. The Mad Ants were led by Gary Talton with 30 points and 5 rebounds.
The first quarter was a tight battle between the Energy and Mad Ants. Iowa led for most of the quarter, opening up a six-point lead. The Mad Ants were able to come back at the end of the quarter to tie the game at 29. Kalin Lucas led the way for the Energy with seven points in the quarter.
The Energy took control of the game in the second quarter, jumping out to a ten-point lead over the Mad Ants. Jarnell Stokes recorded 8 points in the quarter for the Energy as they took a 52-45 halftime lead.
The Energy had a huge third quarter, outscoring the Mad Ants 33-16. Iowa increased the lead to 24 points led by Damien Wilkins with 8 points.
Fort Wayne was able to fight back in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Energy 39-10 to win the game 100-95. Gary Talton helped lead the comeback for the Mad Ants.
The Energy play at home again Tuesday at 10:30am for our annual Education Celebration game.
