
Energy Fall to Defending Champs 109-104

Boise, ID, Feb. 19, 2009 - The Iowa Energy lost their second consecutive road game 109-104 to the Idaho Stampede Thursday in Boise. The Energy, who had defeated Idaho in Des Moines ten days earlier, could not pull off the season sweep of the defending D-League champions. The two teams played to a 59-59 halftime tie before Idaho used their home court advantage to hold of the Energy in the second half.
Guard Curtis Stinson and forward Demetris Nichols each scored 24 points for the Energy while Othyus Jeffers finished with 23 points and 13 rebounds. The Energy made 11 three-pointers on the night, but could not overcome the 22 turnovers they committed.
Idaho was led by forward Brent Petway's 18 points while forward Jason Ellis added 16 points and 10 rebounds. .
With the loss, the Energy fall to 18-10 on the season and remain 1.5 games ahead of Dakota in the D-League's Central Division.
Iowa travels to Utah to round out their road trip on Saturday night. The Energy then return home on Monday for a 7pm contest vs. Erie. The first 2,000 fans at Monday's game will receive a free "Benny the Bull" Bobblehead.
