
Encarnacion-Strand Named International League Player of the Week

LOUISVILLE, KY - The Louisville Bats, in conjunction with Minor League Baseball, today announced infielder Christian Encarnacion-Strand has been named the International League Player of the Week for June 5 - 11.
Encarnacion-Strand, rated the No. 7 prospect in the Reds organization by MLB Pipeline, hit .526 (10-for-19) on the week with two doubles, three home runs, eight RBI, and nine runs scored. The infielder hit safely in all five games he played with four multi-hit efforts. Encarnacion-Strand's week was highlighted by his performance on June 6 when he went 3-for-4 with a double, a home run, an RBI and two runs scored.
Encarnacion-Strand led the International League in OBP (.640) and runs. He also ranked among league leaders in hitting (2nd), home runs (T2nd), SLG (1.105, 2nd), OPS (1.745, 2nd), extra-base hits (5, T2nd), total bases (21, T2nd), walks (6, T3rd), SLG (.920, 3rd), RBI (T4th) and hits (T6th).
The weekly award marks the second for a Bats player in 2023, following Matt McLain's award for the week of May 1-7.
