READING, Pa. - November 2, 2013 - The Elmira Jackals are looking for their third win in a row when they visit the Reading Royals tonight at Santander Arena. It is the third meeting with Reading in Elmira's last five games.

The Jackals are facing the Royals tonight for the third of 16 meetings this season and second of nine at Santander Arena. The Jackals are 1-1-0 against the Royals after last weekend where the visitors swapped 3-1 victories in a home-and-home series. Coupled with a 3-2 shootout win on March 30, 2013, last Saturday's win in Reading gives the Jackals two in a row on the road against the Royals. Only once in their history (from February 11 to March 3, 2012) have the Jackals been able to win three straight road games in Reading. The Royals are coming off of their best offensive output of the season in last night's 6-2 road win over the Wheeling Nailers. Six different Royals scored in the win while all but four skaters registered at least one point.
Through the first four games of the season, the Jackals have put up the best defensive numbers in the entire ECHL. Their seven goals against are the fewest in the league and the team goals-against average of 1.8 is the lowest. Goaltender Scott Greenham has helped the defense in a big way with his league best .50 goals-against average and .987 save percentage. He has stopped 77 of the 78 shots he has seen in two starts. The Jackals rank sixth on the penalty kill at 92.3 percent.
