
Ellis lands on DL again, Davidson activated

Fort Wayne, IN - For the second time this season, right-hander Jonathan Ellis has landed on the disabled list with the Fort Wayne Wizards. The Wizards roster will remain at the Midwest League-maximum 25 players with outfielder Drew Davidson being activated from the disabled list.
Davidson, the Big 10 Player of the Year at the University of Illinois, was originally placed on the disabled list on Sunday, August 28. In 20 games with Fort Wayne, Davidson is hitting .263 with nine runs, one double, five home runs and 14 runs batted in.
Ellis began the season as a reliever for Fort Wayne before moving into the starting rotation on July 23. In 43 appearances, including five starts, Ellis is 5-3 with a 3.89 earned run average. In 78 2/3 innings, he has allowed 82 hits and 24 walks, while striking out 69.
