LumberKings win again
September 5, 2005 - Midwest League (MWL1)
Clinton LumberKings News Release
Burlington got the long and the short of it: starter Michael Schlact, 6'8", surrendered four runs in the first, but settled in and allowed just one more over the next five and smallish Edwin Vera (probably closer to 5'8" than his listed 5'11") finished with three shutout frames, allowing just two hits and no walks as Clinton earned a 6-5 comeback victory.
Ian Gac (.240 / .285 / .433) belted a two-run triple and Andrew Wishy plated Gac with a sac fly to give Clinton a lead that Veras successfully protected. Gac finished 3-4, scoring twice.
Catcher Alberto Martinez (.307 / .342 / .347) went 2-4 with a double to drive in two runs.
