Eighteen Hit Attack Leads Rome to 13-2 Win

Rome, GA - The Rome Braves defeated the West Virginia Power Friday evening at State Mutual Stadium 13-2 before 4,040 fans. The Braves pounded out 18 hits, their most of the season.

The Braves pushed three runs across the plate in the first inning on a two run double by Matt Tellor and a run scoring base hit by Braxton Davidson. It became a 3-1 game in the second inning when West Virginia's Pablo Reyes reached first on a fielder's choice and Michael Suchy scored from third. The Braves posted three more runs in the fourth on an Ozzie Albies two run double and Jordan Edgerton's RBI single making it a 6-1 game.

After the Power scored a run in the top of the sixth, the Braves crossed the plate five times in the bottom half of the inning highlighted by a two run home run by Justin Black, a two run double by Tanner Krietemieir, and an RBI base hit by Davidson. The Braves added two runs in the seventh for the 13-2 final.

Matt Povse (3-1) went 5.1 innings, threw 95 pitches (63 strikes) to get the win while Alex McRae (3-4) is hit with the loss.
