Sacramento River Cats News Release


The Sacramento River Cats (71-45) beat the Tacoma Rainiers (49-67) 7-6 on Sunday in 10 innings at Raley Field. LF/SS Mike Edwards ended the game with a walk-off home run with two outs in the 10th inning. Sacramento tied the game with a four-run ninth inning. PH Mark Johnson cut the deficit to 6-4 with a two-run double, then CF Chris Prieto tied the game with a two-run single to center field. RHP Jeremy Fikac (3-3) earned the win for Sacramento, allowing no runs or hits in 1.0 IP. RHP Scott Atchison (5-7) took the loss for Tacoma.

Tonight's game marked the first time this season the River Cats won a game in which they trailed after eight innings. The Cats now lead Las Vegas by seven games in the PCL's South Division.
