Edmonton Recalls Bryan Pitton to Oklahoma City

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Edmonton Oilers and San Jose Sharks, announced the Edmonton Oilers have recalled goaltender Bryan Pitton (PITT-in) from the Thunder to the Oklahoma City Barons of the American Hockey league.

Pitton has won the ECHL Goaltender of the Week award three times in his career and is 36-38-10 in 90 career games with the Thunder, recording two shutouts, a 3.07 goal-against-average and .901 save percentage.

This season, the 6-foot-2, 190-pound goaltender is 18-10-4 in 34 games with the Thunder, carrying one shutout, a 2.90 goals-against-average and .901 save percentage.

This year the 22-year old Pitton is 3-1-0 in five games with Oklahoma City with a 2.54 GAA and .918 save percentage. The native of Brampton, Ontario is under contract with Edmonton of the National Hockey League after being selected by the Oilers in the fifth round of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

Goaltender Martin Gerber left the Barons game March 16 against Grand Rapids with an upper body injury. He accompanied the team from Grand Rapids to their hotel in Chicago and is listed as day-to-day.

The Thunder roster currently has Tyson Sexsmith and Zane Kalemba as its two goaltenders on the active roster.

A two-time recipient of the ECHL "Award of Excellence," Thunder has led the ECHL in attendance for four consecutive seasons, was voted "Best Local Sports Team" by readers of the San Joaquin Magazine for the third straight year, and drew over 200,000 fans for the fifth consecutive season in 2009-10.
