October 11, 2020 - Major League Soccer (MLS) - San Jose Earthquakes News Release
SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Earthquakes are facing the Portland Timbers tonight at Providence Park, presented by Lux Bus America. The match kicks off at 7:00 p.m. and will be broadcast live on NBC Sports California, KNBR 1050 and 1370 KZSF.
The Earthquakes and Timbers are facing off for the third time this season, with both teams playing to a 1-1 draw on Sept. 16 and Portland taking a 6-1 win on Sept. 19. San Jose and Portland are coming off a positive stretch with three and four consecutive wins, respectively. The MLS is Back Tournament champions most recently defeated the LA Galaxy 6-3 at Dignity Health Sports Park on Wednesday, while the Quakes earned a 3-0 win over Vancouver Whitecaps FC at Earthquakes Stadium that same day.
San Jose are also in search of their first-ever road win against Portland (0-9-3) and seek redemption from their last match at Providence Park, where they were eliminated from the 2019 MLS Playoffs. A win tonight will help keep San Jose over the playoff line and mark their second straight road win.
